RAFT

The RAFT network aims at supporting healthcare professionals in isolated settings of developing countries, through collaborative communities and internet-based applications. Still growing, it is currently active in 20+ countries in French- and English-speaking Africa. The main activities are continuing distance education and access to remote expertise for the clinical management of patients. iPath is used as the primary mechanism for asynchronous tele-expertise requests. A Mali-based organization, the CERTES, oversees and supports the iPath activities for the RAFT network. Links: http://raft.hcuge.ch and http://www.certesmali.org/
